Journey Work
Journey work refers to intense practices that expand consciousness. There is evidence to suggest that as long as humans have existed, they have used a variety of techniques to access alternate states of consciousness. Some of these include drumming, music, dance, fasting, meditation, psychedelic substances, breath work, and many more. Each approach has its pros and cons, and no approach is suitable for everyone.
After a period of prohibition, western societies are rediscovering the unique power of psychedelic journey work. Research at major universities have shown both the healing and transformative potential. Psychedelic substances can to be more reliable than other approaches, and can be more efficient and specific in their effect when use with intention.
Many countries, states, and cities are now removing the prohibitions of the past. While it is still necessary to use discretion when selecting a location to work with a specific psychedelic sacrament, it is currently possible to find locations to work with a variety of substances including:
· TOAD / 5-MeO-DMT
· Psilocybin Mushrooms
· MDMA
· Ketamine
· Cannabis
Each of these substances has very different effects and are contra indicated for some people. It is important to work with a knowledgeable guide who understands your unique situation.
Integration Consulting
While the experience of the journey can be quite intense, dramatic, and reorienting, to get the full healing and transformative effect, the experience must be integrated into our ongoing lives. Often some support during the integration phase is useful.
